ABOUT CHARLES

Surfer.​ Shaker. Creator.

Charles Adler is a surf culture aficionado; enthusiast, historian and a professional art curator and installer.  With over 25 years of industry experience spanning a wide set of artistic and technical roles, he’s co-curated, overseen and completed the hands-on art installation for dozens of galleries, commercial buildings, live auctions, fundraising events, and touring art shows around the globe.  He is passionate about getting his hands on a beautiful body of work, working with artists and space to understand their desired sentiment and vibe, and creating an enriching and experiential environment for audiences. His eye for detail, awareness of space and experience in building projects allows him variability in the type of art and spaces in which he can creatively and successfully work.

CURATOR

Envisioning, organizing and assembling collections of exhibits for museums, galleries, events, activities and auctions. Specializing in global surf and skate culture I focus on objects, archives and artworks that can be interpreted, through exhibitions, publications, events and audio-visual presentations.

HISTORIAN

Research, collect, analyze and record, the evolution of Quiksilver and subsidiary brands.  Including the acquisition and assembly of objects, products, promotional materials, photographs, interviews, films, electronic media, unpublished materials, and personal diaries and letters.
